Did You Catch That Tweet?

There is no doubt we live in an Internet connected world which relies more and more on Internet connected technology for information. Just skim through these staggering stats:

By 2020, 50 billion devices ranging from smartphones to smart cars to smart toothbrushes will be connected to the Internet.

Every tweet posted on Twitter carries with it more than 65 different elements of meta-data.

In one minute, Facebook sees the creation of 500,000 new comments, 293,000 statuses, and 450,000 new photos.

In one minute, YouTube sees the uploading of more than 400 hours of video.

Truly amazing statistics. What this means for the news consumer is pure information and sensory overload which makes it harder and harder to distinguish between information and misinformation.
