Next week I wrap up my mini-course on evaluating health news reports and thought I would share a humorous look at the inherent problems with nutrition surveys which are often the only basis for a news report. Besides the parameters of the questions themselves, one of the biggest obstacles to getting valid information is dishonest answers. If people are not honest, the data is skewed. After all, none of us want to admit we eat the whole gallon of ice cream!
